The Middle Bay area, within which Killin' Time Charter Fishing operates, is home to the greatest variety of fish species in the Chesapeake Bay. Our season begins with trophy Rockfish in April. Atlantic Croaker (hard head) usually make their appearance in late May or early June. Light tackle anglers welcome chumming opportunities for rockfish in mid-June, and bottom fishing for spot, white perch, and trout improves as water temperatures warm in July. As the summer continues, bluefish begin to populate the middle bay area, and Spanish Mackerel join them by mid-August. By mid-September gray trout begin to school, preparing for their fall migration out of the Chesapeake to the ocean. As this occurs, they provide terrific light tackle jigging opportunities through November. Sometime in late October or early November, the same trophy rockfish that left our area in late May will begin to return on their southern migration down the Atlantic Coast, offering us one more opportunity to catch stripers of world class proportions.
