The Sonlight Wilderness Experience Program (SWEP) is for Individuals and families who want a “real” wilderness experience. SWEP offers a fresh different way to see the wilderness. We start you off white water rafting down the Shoshone River through the town of Cody, Wyoming. This is a class III river. : We then head up into the Beartooth Wilderness by 4-Wheel drive vehicles. Once we get to the wilderness boundary, we walk canoes to the first lake, about a half mile. There are five lakes to paddle through during your stay with us. A half mile is the furthest portage between lakes. Very few people use these lakes, so the size of the native trout will blow you away if you love to fish. You might be far into the Wilderness, but you’ll eat like Kings & Queens. We pack in real eggs, meat, and all the food necessary to have incredible meals fixed while you are out enjoying the great outdoors. SWEP provides all necessary equipment. Our gear is first rate; our white water raft is a self-bailing NRS raft. We have seven We-no-nah canoes and The North Face tents. Our sleeping bags are Mountain Gear, and our backpacks are internal frame Lowe Alpine. Our safety equipment is also top of the line. Use our stuff or yours; whatever you prefer. The cost is $500 a person for a 7-Day trip. $600 a person in Yellowstone National Park. There is a discount for families of 5 or more. Compare with other programs. A family of 4 is $2,000-$2,400, all you bring is your clothes & fishing gear, we provide the rest! Deposit required upon reserving your dates. June can be cold – very few mosquitoes & great rafting. July great month, August is hot, a lot of mosquitoes.
